I had found another Tootsietoy at a local antique mall! It is about 1:24 in scale and all plastic. Since then; though, that location has went up in flames on Christmas Day in 2018. I had liberated many diecast and other items from their before hand, but a lot of larger collectibles, a display case of older Lesney Matchbox and a few over priced HWs mainlines melted away that day. :(

Another antique mall find (really the Quarter House Museum) from that day. I was really surprised to run across this one. It was setting with a few other MB on a valet tray.

This one was my favaorite find of the day though. It was dust covered and had been sitting in place so long - it was "stuck in place" a bit on the shelf were it sat! A very heavy item and nicely detailed. I ended up eventually trading it to 250TR for some Corvettes of course!

And lastly, I ran across this board game set back then. It is still sealed, so I am hesitant to open it up. May turn it into a wall hanging like the HW set above. (It's still sitting on the bookshelf were I put after the photographs.) Wonderful graphics and a bright yellow background is a winner for display!

20160605 - (Someone asked for more information about the larger pink casting in the middle.) Thanks! The pink C4 is an ERTL brand with "Speed Strips" on the base. It needs a right front wheel adjustment and a good cleaning! My best guess for the model casting is the 1990 ZR1. It has the roof mounted brake light introduced in 1986 and carried through to 1990 with the concave ZR1 rear end (with squarish tail lights) that was introduced that year as well. In 1991, the the 3rd brake light was intigrated into the rear fascia through to the last C4 run of 1996.

20160606 - (Someone else asked about the wheels on the Majorette casting being from Tomica.) Could be a wheel swap was done along the way. Especially with the screw type base. I will have to do more research on it as the openings in the base makes it look like it has something missing to my eyes! Could it have been a slot car or some other kind of track car, maybe? The body is metal and chassis is plastic.

(Their followup) - El Cheapo just posted an RX-7. A little poking around and apparently there's what amounts to a mini viewmaster reel in there it seems. There have even been COTD posts, including at the beginning of March that I completely blanked on. They (also) all seem to have had those wheels on there.

(Me) - Thanks for the follow up, but I dont think the viewmster mechanism is still in the 'Vette.

20160606 - D'oh! I should have know this!!! The ACO is the organization that puts on the 24 Hours of LeMans. They also advocate for public highway safety and have a service similiar to our AAA here in the USA for the French citizens.

I also found a boxed one on the bay, but it is not listed on the card back as part of the series list.
