I want to show off a new-old-stock Mercedes C 111 from the late 60's. I don't know the exact year but it has rubber tyres and I'd say at least 67 or 68 before Hot Wheels changed the entire market. It was available at french gas stations and I think it looks pretty good for its age. Models in those days didn't look in all details realistic but they have a certain charm, don't they.

Probably easy enough to find on European flea markets, I thought I should catch this one here in New Zealand when I could because you don't see it every day.

This is the 1:1

And a little info about the company: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercury_(toy_manufacturer)

Probably one of the more awkward looking C111's, but the diecast does have charm.
And real treaded rubber tires too, nice touch.

Speaking of Hot Wheels, one of their very first cars, the 'Ford J-Car' looked
very similar to that C111.

Mercury were famous for their 1/43, but that small Speedy is certainly nice! Great to see the French box too!
