Hi,

Was the engine running & warm when it lost spark or has the engine never started or did the engine start and then stop?

What is the condition of the spark plug?
Is the correct spark plug being used?
What happens if you use a brand new spark plug?
What is the spark gap?

Is the spark wire making contact with the spark plug?
I've had spark cables fall off whilst the motor was running and I've had
spark cables not making good contact with the spark plug - a real nuisance if you don't look out for that.

What happens when you use a spark in line tester?

As I'm not familiar with the engine, has it got breaker points?
If so, you will want to ensure that the breaker points are not burnt.
What is the gap setting of the points?
Is there build up on the contacts of the breaker points?
Build up on the movable contact usually indicates insufficient capacitance.
Build up on the stationary contact usually indicates excess capacitance.

What is the strength of the flywheel magnet?
To test it, put a screw driver 1" away from the magnet and if the screw driver is pulled strongly towards the flywheel, the flywheel magnet is fine.

Has the kill switch dislodged itself killing of any spark?

Has the motor got an oil sentry switch?
If so, has the motor got the correct amount of oil and the correct viscosity?

Have a go at those things and let us know how it goes.

Kind Regards

thanks GABE.

For your electrical connections, are the contacts/connections good?
ie. no corrosion on them & tight?
Even the magneto where it bolts onto, that needs to have a good contact.

If you have a picture of the motor with magneto etc, that would be great.
