Designed by Sonny Fischer for Mattel Hot Wheels, the Elva debuted in 2022 and has had 4 casting releases to date. It will also be the 2024 Toy Fair casting.
The Elva is the 5th McLaren vehicle in their Ultimate Series. It is a limited-production open-topped two-seat sports car and follows the F1, P1, Senna and Speedtail. model. The car name references back to the car manufacturer Elva, which McLaren founder Bruce McLaren collaborated with to produce his earliest race cars. The name "Elva" come from the French phrase "elle va", which, translates to "she goes".
Production of the Elva was originally slated to be 399 units but due to reduced production time and lower part availability - production of the Elva was cut back to only 149 units. The car may be ordered with or without a windshield.
