When I found my first M2 Drag Chase car I wondered where they came up with the idea for these, they are not like your normal chase cars where they change the color of something, these are totally different cars. So I e-mailed Sean and I received this reply.

"I wanted to mimic the old Hurst Shifters give away cars. They ran a promotion in the early 1960's giving the winner of the entire class a brand new car. I really like this chase car, it catches the stock boys off guard."

I've never heard of the Hurst Shifter give away cars, and Sean says he might have a couple of pics. I think these are the best chase car ideas I've ever seen, base on something real.

I only caught on when I read the fender of the Mustang, and thought it just made it so much cooler. I didn't stop to think others not being 50-something may not have caught the "prize" connection.
