Hi Everyone,

Here are the official pictures from Kyosho's release #38, the British Sports Cars. They've strike gold again with this new release. The car selection are excellent, and each one is loaded with fine details. I love how they created a new mold for each of the McLaren F1 and just didn't get lazy and simply slap on a rear wing and mark it as the GTR version. The race cars are awesome too... probably available for the first time in 1/64 scale. I'm sure we'll see some interesting eBay wars on these cars.

Just like the last few releases there will be a secret/chase car. I have no idea what it is though. Most likely a color variant of a particular car, but I'd love to see that they've pulled some extra effort and maybe created a McLaren F1 GTR with racing livery..... yeah...

Enjoy the pictures and start saving money.

The poor quality of 1/64 Kyosho models are expected to stay for a long time....Since, they are new factories... workers never make model cars before the factory accepted this British 2 set order....:(
They probably fired the QC people during cost cutting resulting in poor quality models.

I think it's safe to send your cars back to have them replaced.

This is sad news, what happened to the other factories?

The other factories did not get the order...

Kyosho cut cost by 50%.... so you can expect the quality drop...
Thank you for all responses.

I will wait and see how mine show up.
I think the probleme will be fixe with the next collection( I hope) , kyosho don't wan loose his excellent reputation .

Lego has same problem when they opened new factory in mexico in 2007
I guess from now on I'll not be as hard for Kyoshos anymore. At least not until they raise the quality back up. I'll be looking into other brands just in case. i heard Minichamps are excellent, CM is not bad, autoart is great and hopefully Spark/Redline would join the 1/64 market (they make perfect 1/87 with excellent details). All I'm saying is that we should have more choices since we are paying quite a lot of money for these 1/64 scale cars.
Yeah minichamp made very nice die cast.
Cm's have quality control probleme sometime 10-15% of my CM's Rally car have default
but I fixe myself some of them
All the other ones are great alternatives, but my first choice is still Kyosho. They just need to fix that annoying QC problem so we won't get disappointed again. By the way, is anybody collecting 1/87 scale die cast cars?
The quality problem have been a sore subject in several Japanese blogs too. But from what I heard before in Japan Kyosho can exchange the merchandise if you ship it back to their customer service. Too bad this doesn't apply for us international collectors. Kyosho is still my #1 choice simply because of their range of subjects, attention to details, and quality. Hopefully they'll continue to live up to their name.

Not really, but I had a seller throw one in with some 64's I bought. Yellow Elise. Cool gesture on the part of the seller and I thought the car was pretty well done by Kyosho. I would rate it as a "mini" version of the 1/64. Nice tires, wheels, good windshield. Head/tail lights painted, otherwise you would be hard pressed to tell it from the 1/64 in a photo. I was impressed.
Isn't 1/87 the same as HO railroad??
I think your Elise is 1/100 scale, 1/87 (yes it is HO railroad scale) is slightly larger. I got one from Spark, it is amazing in details. Take a look at www.spark-models.com
Here is a pic of the Spark I'm talking about.

Spark makes some really awesome 1/87 diecast cars, but they are extremely expensive... too much for my budget.
I wonder how well they can make 1/64, if they ever do, and how much would those cost...
