I have seen on some race sheets that people are using different lubes on their fornt ends. What is the purpose of king pin lube, and what does it do to your car?
Dampening is what they are used for. Pretty much like shock oil is in your shocks. Lighter or heavier contols bound and rebound to speed or slow the return of a front end.
So what they are doing is appling the lube to the pin and placing it back throught the suspension arms and the lube is actually reducing the (sliding) motion of the pin as it goes through the arms. Do I have this correct?
since you are new dont bother trying to find Bolink Sur-lube since they went outta business. Both Murdock and Associated make good lubes. I always liked Associated 30K LF and 60K RF on flat tracks. On banked 60K LF and RF or Murdock Blue.
