I have one these. It first appeared in the 80's and I bought it thru Star Tech in Tennessee.

Nah, they never wore a patch. Who ever did the desing put a lot of thought into. Very reminiscent of the NASA glory days of Project Gemini and Apollo. No doubt the company that made the patch had some input I would think and probably make repro early NASA patches too. It very much has that feel.

Anyway, I bought a couple of them, one to have and one to mount on the base of my Jupiter 2 (when I get around to building it). Being a big fan of the early NASA days I though it to be kinda cool!

In a way, that mission patch would be more appropriate for TOS Star Trek. Afterall, Gene Roddenberry described the series, in his pitch to the network executives as "Wagontrain to the Stars", right?
