with the current rumor from the toy fair being that RC2, in their infinite wisdom, is about to try and introduce a "Johnny Lightning" Comic book thingy,
got me to thinking................
Didnt we hear this idea once before, say about nine years ago,
From Playing Mantis?
well, after some searching thru the mountains of paperwork, receipts, and newsflash stuff I have stashed away..........(and boy, do I ever have a ton of stuff).
I found This:

this was in an old newsflash.
not sure how many people remember it.

The products and pictures I saw for the cartoon character was a boy (targeted between 10-15 years old)?

They have all kinds of stuff though that I saw prototypes of - fantasy cars with tires that light up when you pull them back, a catapult for the cars, etc.

These cars were for some comic book promo. Not sure which one.

That Charger looks cool!
what set are these two from?
Looks like a couple of 'must haves'.

I think they came with the comic book you posted? Someone posted them here about 7 years ago, haven't seen them since.

um.........that is just a folded -in-half poster that was
inserted in my newsflash issue, from maybe 1999.
I just never saw those two cars.
Probably have twenty wierd things like that in my File Cabinet
that were inserts in the newsflash, including a nice poster of the 'Munster Koach'.

That artist look familiar...anyone know who was drawing that comic?

Terrible outfit and color scheme on that character. No wonder it never flew.
