I know this might be slightly off-topic, but I wasn't sure which area to post in.

Does anybody recognize this plane or know of a good ID site for tin toys? It does not have a date. It only says "Trademark T.N Japan" & "Made in Japan". The plane is marked "PH-KLM The Flying Dutchman"

Thank you!

THAT is a Nikko Gangu brand (TN Toys Nomura was another brand that exported them) Remote-control Boeing Stratocruiser from the 50s.

Most were friction toys and they came with a variety of lithographed color schemes: Pan American, Northwest, United, and even a Capital Airlines "Viscount." (Sold by Line Mar Toys in the US.)

KLM never actually flew the Stratocruiser and the registration letters PH-KLM are fictional.

Hope this helps.

Here are two others, the Pan Am is all friction, the United has a battery under the wings to operate the wing lights.
