I was going thru a box of Hot Wheels and forgot I had these. They're cars from Japanese Action Hero shows.

They're not Transformers, these are the vehicles that the characters on the card drove or appeared in the shows. The series was called Charawheels and were distributed by a toy company called Bandai. There are actually quite a few different ones. They are from around 2002 or so.

I have the pink thunderbirds car! its my only japan HW car I even saw the show on a late nite cartoon channel

OMG! "That pink car" is the FAB 1 from the Thunderbirds! I'm kinda surprised HW even got the liscensing for it, but then MB has had the liscensing for quite awhile...they did a box set that had all of the Thunderbirds and the FAB 1 some years before Mattel bought them out. Dinky even did some of the Thunderbirds in a bit larger scale back in the '70's, and a mint condition Thunderbird 2 by Dinky last I looked would sell easily for over $100, maybe a bit less now but still. The FAB 1 was always a popular piece from those collections. Lady Penelope was chauffered around by her faithful assistant Parker in the FAB 1, and the both of them would kick some serious butt on the show.

Giving away just a bit of my inner child, but has anybody else here seen the more recent Thunderbirds movie directed by "Number 1" Jonathan Frakes? The old Thunderbird series had a FAB 1 based loosely on a Rolls-Royce. The new FAB 1 built for the recent movie was based on a retro Ford Thunderbird.

I'd love to see that one made in 1:64 diecast too, but I doubt it will ever happen.

I grew up watching the Thunderbirds...as if you couldn't tell.

Actually that was a F1 car. The Tyrrell P34.

That pink one is cool. I don't have any Japanese castings in my collection.

The first guy is Ultraman, from Ultra7. They used to be on TNT about 7am
weekdays somewhere close to 17 years ago and I have a whole VHS tape of
their shows dubbed in English. It's real campy and fun to watch.

Ultraman used to have his own show even further back, 35 years ago or so,
and I'd watch it over at my GF's house when we got home from school in Jr High.

Bandai is rumored to be considering getting out of the dubbed anime business.

i see ultra man on he first one and that was their version of back to the future car. nice collection-i have always wanted to get some of the cars from japan.
