Is there going to be anyone we know making the October announcements?

Is there going to be anyone we are familiar with from PL making the October PL release announcements???(not meant as a sponsor criticism, their staffing is their business, it is simply a big, giant, elephant-in-the-middle-of-the-room-obvious question that begs to be asked)

(I know that Thomas is contracted to do the work by PL, and probably has nothing to do with the announcements, it's not in his job description - plus the guy has enough on his plate as it is - just keep building feverishly, Thomas!!!).

PL still attending any functions/shows? Have read elsewhere that Dave is no longer officially with the company.

Perhaps we'll need to keep checking the main website in order to get any release updates?

Anybody have a clue as to the answers to these and other troubling questions?

Though I know you are pulling my leg, I was beginning to wonder if anyone was working at PL other then Thomas Sasser being contracted to do pieces for them.

Hope he still has someone to turn in the final version of the Refit for approval and die cutting!!!

Will continue to keep my fingers crossed that he's contracted for a 1/350th TOS Enterprise, though I don't think I'll risk holding my breath for it...

If we never get a 1/350th TOS E this will be a major tragedy for modelers, as it has been I'm sure a personal loss for many others.

If a refit sees the light of day it will make things a little better, I sincerely hope we end up with more then the NX-01 in the 1/350th line. Even though it is a good model, it would only remind us of what could have been...

Yeah...that may be our only recourse, but I'm sure you know as well as I do that they're not too forthcoming with information on the PL website. In my opinion, PL needs to do a better job with their PR; better advance notice of what's coming would spur far more interest and generate better sales.

Are you kidding?

Most people around here are pretty well versed on what's coming up in the pipeline. It's hard to keep a secret around here. And when a product IS announced, it's usually an 18-month head's up.

How does knowing what the next two years' worth of products affect what you buy today?

I'd say go build a model and just keep your eyes open.

In my case, it has quite an effect. Especially with reissues. If I know a reissue is coming, then I don't have to spend extra money getting an original. Case in point: The Captain America model. I'd been trying to find an Aurora one, but once I heard the Polar Lights was going to reissue it, I stopped searching it and started looking for the next model on my "want list." I'm more than content with a reissue if I know it is coming.

And some of us do need to save money and budget for our hobby. Knowing a model is coming down the pipeline means I can start putting some money aside now for it so I'll be sure I can afford it when it does get released.
