I can buy the old Ripley kits (Iron Maiden, etc.) which have been rebranded as Weird-Ohs kits at this site, which is tied in with the actual manufacturers :

http://www.weird-ohs.com/wetodemoki.html

Has anyone found them for sale at any other stores or websites? I bought the reissues of the four Lindberg Loonies kits from them and received excellent service, but I would like to try and find a cheaper place to order from.

I have already ordered the Lindberg Space Base and Satellite Explorer kit through my local hobby shop for half what this website is selling it for, and hope to find a better deal on the Ripley kits as well. If not, it's certainly not a bad price for the kits and I will go ahead and order them.

In this day and age with the current pricing on plastic models I actually don't think that's such a bad price, $20 each? It is rare to find a plastic model under that price unless it is a Dollar store or something on closeout. I think I'd spring for them at that price, another kit to add to the stack. And you might find them for a bit less after more retailers have them available.

Actually, from what I remember when I called them before, this website is associated with the manufacturer, but I don't remember the exact connection at the moment.

I will email them, or maybe call and ask if the kits are ready to ship now.

When I emailed them the last time I wanted to order something, I received a prompt reply within 24 hours, and called and placed my order rather than using the website. Shipping was prompt and I had my Lindberg Looney's reissues delivered reasonably quickly.

The only other place I had found that was selling the Lindberg Looney's reissues was Cult's site, and he said he hadn't bought many.

I will post again after I find out if the kits are available right now or not.

Pre-order

Yeah, evidently they are INTENDED to be a pre-order item though they are not marked that way. I sent payment for all 7 of the newer kits, and when i contacted them about 3 weeks later i was told about the pre-order status. I let them hang onto my money in hopes that i will get the kits in the next month or so. I've dealt with them before and had no issues, just wish they'd have indicated that the kits weren't out yet.

Yeah. They are/were preorder but it didn't say it anywhere that I noticed, although I didn't look that hard and it seemed like they were already out when I ordered.

That website is from the manufacturer. I ordered my kits and was told, a few weeks later that it would be 2 months before they were expected to arrive... and my cc was already charged.

I'm still totally fine with my purchase andHawk/Lindberg. I will happily wait for these kits but I wanted to let you guys know the situation.
