I happened on this interesting site featuring some fascinating early concept art from the Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea movie. This art features a shark-like Seaview with enormous windows like a mouth! When you arrive at the page listed- scan down abit to find the drawings.

What great images! Thanks for the link. The bottom image shows what someone here called "the catwalk to nowhere" in the obs nose of the TV version. So maybe it really was just a catwalk like that on TV, only with the rest of the nose turned upside down. Very cool.

I actually use to have one of those Revell cut away Polaris submarines. The decal sheet for the internals was a site to behold. Thanks for the link! Fox.
