Took the carb. off to clean it.The mower surges,my problem is the small mixture screw on the side of the carb. broke off.I t has a metal tab on the screw so it only can move about 1/8",It has a spring behind the screw. How do I get the screw stub out of the carb. Engine GXV140.

Thanks,
Jerry:confused:

That screw is generally not the cause of the issue you describe. Clean out the pilot jet and the passages leading to the pilot jet, and that should cure the surging.

Best of Luck...
