I have been in love with Aurora models and 1:8 scale diaramas since childhood. Had all the Aurora monsters. My first model was the Aurora Phantom Of The Opera and Frankenstein back in 1962 and 1963. I have most of the re-issues, - Cinemodel, Polar Lights, Moebius and a couple of original Auroras , the Glow In the Dark Dracula and the Jekyll and Hyde and some original boxes. I am intereseted in purchasing original boxes and or models. Does anyone know where I could buy a 2001: A Space Odyssey Astronaut ? I'm looking for the Captain Cardboard 1/12 figure or the Lunar Models Figure with or without the Ape. If anyone has one to sell or an Aurora model to sell let me know. Nice to be part of a group that has a similar interests.

A warm welcome to you newbie.I do see the 2001 Astronaut on E-Bay from time to time.Captain Cardboard makes it,I believe. The latter one is better than Lunar Model Astronaut, since it has a hollow helmet with clear visor and an astronaut head inside.:)

The only topics probably safer to stay away from revolve around the 2009 Enterprise and gridlines, beyond that you're pretty safe (note, I said "pretty") - Welcome aboard!

LOL! I had a friend that's no longer with us do that very thing! If he didn't know, he would act like he did and just make something up.
