Not sure if this will work but I would sure like to figure out exactly what set my first set was. I do not recall the brand or name. All I do know is that is was purchased around 1962, was a figure 8 and came with two corvettes which were also 62s (or close).

I remember having a lot of fun with that little set but I most remember thinking those two corvettes were just the coolest looking cars ever.

I know its a long shot but if anyone knows of a set sounding like this one being sold new in 1962, I just might need to go ebay hunting... It would be cool to have that set again.

Thanks

Did the cars look like this? This was resin cast by our very own Neal aka 1scalevolvo. I'm pretty sure it's based on an Atlas original. here are some links to the actual Atlas cars.

I offer this link merely for reference, as he's asking 500 bucks for the car, which seems way out there to me:

And on this page, the guy is selling a red one and a blue one about halfway down the page at a slightly more reasonable price... still a little steep for me. This page took forever to load, and in the past, if I recall correctly, it has played goofy MIDI music...

Atlas track pops up from time to time on Fleabay. It is interchangeable with Lionel track from the same time period, though Atlas has white lane markings and Lionel has yellow. My 4x16 4-lane layout is made of Atlas and Lionel track that I collected over several years...

Hey Rick, man those do look pretty close. I do recall one being red and the other blue. Perhaps Atlas is a good lead.

Thanks!

Thanks for the Kudo's Rick ! I almost forgot the series I did ! WHen did you buy these from me ? must be @ least 6+ years ago ! I still got the "OOmoo" mold but I would have to do a new mold as the old one is not good any more.Is that the convertible or a "choped" coupe ?
