Battery slot would be any feature that lowers and helps position the battery pack. The holes near the battery do neither of those things.

I agree with half of that statement, I think that there should be no battery slots in the chassis. This would provide a means for lowering the battery pack. As far as "locating" a battery pack in the chassis, I think that that is acceptable since the class has always allowed the old school Associated battery boxes specifically to locate the pack in the car.

There not Battery slots. There cutouts and the picture doesn't show it but batteries will not fit in them. This is what i've been told and believe it to be true.
