B&S 12s512-0118-E1 Could this be valve adjustment problem?

Have Troy Built pressure washer with B&S engine model 12s512-0118-E1. Primer Start, it will start fine but have to hold my thumb over the carb. air inlet to keep it running. Have removed the carb. and cleaned every jet and crevice in it, the orifices in bowl bolt are open and all others seem to be open. Doesn't really seem to be in carb. was wondering if valve adjustment (OHV) could be the problem? Thought I was pretty good on small engines but this one has me stumped...Thanks for any help.

You just need someones thumb whenever you want to use your pressure washer...:freak:

I don't think the valves are causing your issue, however if they have never been adjusted and you have some running time on the engine, it's always good to check them and adjust if needed.

Your problem still appears to be fuel related. If your sure the main jet and nozzle are clear and clean, then look for an air leak between the carburetor and manifold or manifold and cylinder head.

Best of Luck...
