Hachette was established in 1826 as an English language publisher and is currently located in Paris, France. As a publishing company Hachette is one of the largest English-language houses and is considered to be one of the big five publishing houses, along with Penguin Random House, Macmillan, Simon & Schuster and Harper-Collins. Knownas Hachette Book Group USA, their office is based in New York City, as a subsidary of the French publisher Hachette. They are associated with several other publishers around the world including Grand Central Publishing since 2006 when Warner Books sold the Time Warner Book Group to Hachette Livre. And Little, Brown and Company founded in 1837 by partners Charles Coffin Little and James Brown. Hyperion Books is another book publisher in the Hatchette Book Group and was established in 1990. As a former holding under The Walt Disney Company, it was named after Hyperion Avenue, the location of Walt Disney Studios before 1939.

Apparently Hachett is also involved in the production of and distribution of diecast cars, buses, military vehicles, motor cycles, race cars and trucks as with their Mille Miglia collection noted here. They are are also associated with (or currently own the diecast brand names of (?) Brumm, Corgi Solido, IXO, Mercury, Norev, and Solido, but so far have had their listed series of castings produced by other manufacturerers.

As to Hachette Partswork Limited specifically - they started issuing a series of 1:43 scale castings, in December 2008. There were 50 models released in total over time. Most were made by Starline and Metro. Which, themselves were renamed in 2010 to be Leo Models. Casting models came on a plastic display base with no cover, inside the package was blister top attached to the white card board base. Each model also came with a small broucher that described the car in Italian of course. Littlehampton Book Services is an imprint of Hachette and is one of the leading UK book distributors for automobile related titiles. Hachette announced in June 2016 though that it close LBS by 2019 in favor of an improved distribution model.

4CV Renault Series

The 4CV Renault series is a collection of (48) different versions of (45) Renault 4CVs and (3) 'test models'. These were issued by Hachette, between April 2007 and August 2009. The castings were made by Universal Hobbies for Eligor and came in Eligor branded display bases inside reuseable blister packs that could be opened and closed without destroying the actual original package.

Each model came with a French leaflet about the 4CV and the featured car version. The series has a barcode numbering sytem from M 06190 to M 06230.

Subscribers to the series recieved a new model every 2 weeks and also occasional special gifts, that included a vintage Renault-dealership diorama, a keyring and a reissue of CIJ's vintage 4CV based model of the 1956 L'etoile Filante record holding car.
