Guisval was established in Ibi (Alicante), Spain near Valencia in 1962 by Francisco Guillem, José Luis Serralta and Ramón Valero. Letters from their names were used to develop the company name. They initially produced watches and toy typewriters before making diecat cars. They are best known early on for producing castings of F1 and Rally cars. Along with a variety of commercial and emergency vehicles. And automotive brands familier to their home country - such as Seat. In the 1980s, they were recognized mostly by the name "Coleccion Campeon" which came on a flat card bottom with a clear plastic bubble cover. Attached to the base was an abreviated version of their casting catalogue. Another smaller sized series of casting targeted towards children was called Coleccion Chiquicerilas. Packaging also included Matchbox style boxes and window boxes.

They are still actively producing diecasts today. And have a museum showroom dedicated to their past castings, catalogues, design drawings and other advertisments. Along with their current offerings in 1:22, 1:32, 1;43, 1:58 and 1:87 scale sizes. Current vehicle offered include a wide collection of cars, motorcycles, trucks, vans, public work machines, military vehicles and classic cars. They have three primary line ups today called Champion, Furia and Tir. Their newest range of accessories are called "More Than Cars". This line includes different versions of modern garages and parking lots. They also produce a line up of diecast finger boards.

To celebrate their 50th Anniversary in 2012, Guisval staged a traffic jam on the Gan Via in Madrid.
