Godzilla to join Hollywood's Walk of Fame

Thursday, October 21, 2004 at 04:42 JST
TOKYO — Godzilla, Japan's longtime favorite monster, will be honored at Hollywood's Walk of Fame on Nov 29. Toho Co presented a Godzilla mascot with a certificate for the Hollywood honor, at the company's Tokyo head office on Wednesday.

Godzilla's star on the Walk of Fame will be the first for a Japanese character. Past recipients include Disney cartoon characters Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, U.S. director Steven Spielberg, and British musician John Lennon. (Kyodo News)

LOL But seriously this must be why my Hollywood Video suddenly has the DVD's Zilla' VS Hedra and the Old Zilla VS. Mecha-Zilla (It'll Always be "the Bionic Monster )To me! lol These DVD's are Labeled "50th Anniversy Editions" Wow Fifty Years! I think my Fave is still Godzilla VS Megalon. For some reason I love that Robot (Jet Jaguar) reminds me of Ultraman

Of course there's nothing wrong with that......but you are right about the "mincing" through Tokyo.

A number of years ago, I worked for a company that supplied some bathroom fixtures for his home near San Francisco. When I was there for delivery and installation, there was no doubt. Terrific guy. I didn't have any lengthy conversations with him or anything, but he was down-to-earth with no movie star airs about him at all.

Big G getting a star makes more sense than Mark and Bryan ( LA area radio show hosts ) getting one. What did THEY do to deserve such an honor?
No kidding! Geez, what a couple of over-rated blow hards that just love to hear themselves talk!

I wonder if Kong has one?
According to a list I just saw, no. But Fay Wray does.

I mean when Mark & Bryan, Don & Mike, Bob & Tom, Howard Stern, etc have blasted planes out of the sky with their atomic breath, demolished buildings just by walking into them, tossed buses, cars and trains around, swatted at planes from atop a skyscraper, made thousands of people run in terror down the street and are movie stars THEN maybe they earned a star on that sidewalk.

Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing deserve a star btw.
