I have a honda 5.0 GC160 DHAF

The owner I purchased it from took the motor apart and didnt have the skills or time to reassemble. The reason the motor was taken apart was the plastic cam wheel shatter.

So I got new cam, belt and now its time to reassemble. I have the timing instructions/details from this forum, but have a couple other questions;

1) intake and exhaust valve. One valve is slightly larger, and one is thinner and one is thicker. Is the thicker valve the exhaust valve?

2) The piston has two reliefs cut into the top. Which direction do these face?

Thank You!

Usually valves have IN. and EX. on them . An intake valve is normally larger then the exhaust.
The pistion should have a mark like this ^ on the top,closer to one side,or some sort of marking. That side will go toward the flywheel side.
