Here is something I have been kicking around since this summer after reading an article in Hot Rod about gassers. A very simple chassis swap and modification. Finally a good use for a Zinger! Still a work in progress, some more details to be added.

There are quite a few magazines out now about gassers. It is amazing the revival that has taken place in that field in the last five years.

And a question for NWovalfan.
I know that you used a Zinger base on this project.
I have a couple of JL '55 Ford panel delivery trucks taken completely apart.
And I want to make a gasser out of one.

How did you end up with the dropped or lowered back end?
I presume that you removed the chromed rear axle and ladder bars.
That looks easy.
And how did you mount the rear axle?
Or did you just fudge it?
I want to do a couple of these.

I had comtemplated trying this before but couldn't figure out how to modify the rear axle and still retain the desired stance that I wanted.

That is one awesome gasser that you created!
Thanks for sharing.

Cheers. Cobra
