ANNOUNCEMENT!

Many have asked what we will be doing for the 500 this year. It is true that the first year or two was a one-day event but then it grew, and we started making it a two-day event.

Last year we didn’t hold the 500 due to the NCS race being the following weekend. This year we have something different to offer everyone. In years past those who have been here know we put on a feast second to none. We have had bands for entertainment. Lets just say the event was well worth the trip everyone kept making.

This year we have worked with a number of Corporations to bring you a different 500 for 2012. Summit Racing Equipment has joined us to bring you the 500 this year. They also have sponsored our 2012 points series. The Cleveland IX Center has also joined us to bring you the 2012 Points series.

This year the 500 will be a one-day event. It will be held Saturday July 7th. We will start single car qualifying at noon. Now that we have lights we can go further into the evening. In years past we have raced all classes. This year it is going to be a Sportsman race only. This will make it easier for myself, and help with the time frame. In years past it has drawn the best racers in the country and I feel we shall continue with that trend this year as well.

We are making this a Pizza, Hamburger, Hotdog race. Its not that I do not have a taste for baby back ribs, it is just once everyone leaves you had nothing but some great memories. This year I want you to be able to take something home with you.

With our sponsors we will be able to give away prizes. Jr Quarterscale, has joined up with Bishop Racing, to bring you a complete Vision Cage Car Roller ! minus engine.

All racers will receive one $ 10.00 raffle ticket with your entry. Then they may purchase as many as you would like for an additional $ 10.00 per ticket. After all the qualifiers, and prior to running the 500 we will draw and give away Summit Racing and Freddie’s Hobbies gift certificate’s. Then for one lucky winner, we will draw for the Vision Cage Car. You have to be present in order to win.

If by any chance it rains on Saturday the 7th we will hold the race on the 8th Sunday.

The last 500 took one hour and 7 minutes. We only had two cautions. We will be running green flag pit stops as years past to give it that extra element of strategy. We will be starting 15 cars this year. Four will be bumped up, and one racers choice. It is going to be exciting, fun packed. And for some lucky individuals they will be taking home some great things.

Once again lets thank our sponsors; Summit Racing Equipment, Bishop Racing Products, The Piston Power Show, and Jr Quarterscales.

I wish everyone a safe and fun racing season !

WILL THERE BE A BAND?

No band, but I could probably get Freddie to sing for us! LOL
Radio, beer, zip ties and duct tape,Im there. Sounds like fun to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Band ? A BAND ! ??? We do not need to STINKING BAND ! LOL

No we did a band the last 4 times. This year I am sending someone home with something a little nicer.

The competition is going to be high, and goods shall be had by all. A few things you can be sure of at this race

# 1. We will have a real Pre-tech
# 2. We will have a real Post-tech
# 3. Someone will go home with a $ 1,900.00 Cage Vision !

The one thing you can say is who ever wins our 500 has truly accomplished something great. The competition is high, the last 500 was won by Scott Schramske. The race took one hour and ten minutes; we only had two cautions and started 12 cars. This year I am starting 15 cars. I want to say 7 cars last race finished on the lead lap and you could of put a blanket over the top 3-4 most of the race. You will not find a better race or competition anywhere else in the country. Come on down and test your skills, and you could go home with a $ 1,900.00 Cage Vision !

I try to stay true to the rulebook as it is written. It is very dishearten to find those who are suppose to enforce the book fail to do so time and time again. From the calls I receive and those who come here to race voice their opinions to me while we talk, they refuse to say them publicly because of the childish behavior of others. They will attack me for saying it . Who cares if the truth hurts and if those who say something do not like it then they need to ensure they do not make the SAME mistakes again and again. This last year and half has been a flipping joke. Again I cannot wait until August. Lets get QSAC back on a direction for all to enjoy. A rulebook should be just that a book for all to follow. Not just a guideline to change when the mood strikes.

O.K. I got a full blown AM & FM stereo, with a CD player in the race trailer,so we can rock with out a band. Please don't let Freddie sing. I think this is going to be the best Freddie's 500 yet.

Can't wait.

Amen, brother.... Rules level the playing field. I think that is what QSAC intended.
This is shaping up to be a great race........Bring your "A" game boys.

It dosnt really matter, the truth hurts. The question is are you making the trip or not ? Do you want to know where you stack up against some great compitition ? What is cool is how many people stretch fuel. second and third was a toss up on who stopped for fuel and who didn't It adds a nice element to things.
The track will be open all week for practice from 9 am to 6 pm before the 500 on July 7.
