Matchbox's Ford Corsair was #45 and released in 1965 and available until 1970. During this period MB was trying to add play value to their products. Some models had opening parts but the Corsair had a roof rack and boat! Note the tow hook - now I need to find an old MB caravan! :)

To get the boat into the box Lesney made this car in a noticeably smaller scale than its fellow last half of the 1960s castings. However, the scale and the boat made this one a winner with railway modellers,so it is still very common today with only 2 htf variations - gray wheels or silver painted baseplate. A winner indeed!

I still see some of these stuck down onto model railway layouts! The casting is fine and shows Oxford Diecast and the rest of the modern manufacturers how it is done in 1:76th scale!
