I you haven't been FOCARed yet then you need to make the trip down to RPM speedway and try it. RPM is a nice medium sized carpet track that has good traction and the layout provides excellent racing. Plus the Focar staff puts on a good show with Kenny Homes on the mic. they Have a good raffle and the is pleanty of pit space did I mention it is Air conditioned!!!! even if you don't come to race just sit and watch see if Mike Boylan can regain his form there is to much action and rivals to list come check it out!!!!!

saturday sept 25th doors will open at 7 am racing to begin at 11:30 am

Lets All get ready

Directions

Hey Dave or anyone from HW,can you e-mail me the directions to the track from HW?Sounds like alot of fun.:) [email protected] Thanks ahead of time..
RPM is on exit 436 there is a big water tower on I-4 next take a left and go about 4 mile RPM is next to Sam's Club on the right hand side of the road coming from I-4. it is after you cross over 17-92. so 295 south to 95 south to I 4 east get off exit 436 take a left go 4-5 miles and it is on the right next to Sams club.

kevin coming from Lake city you might be better off going down 75.

Actually Dave's correct except it's go west on I-4 then exit number 92 which is state rd 436.
let's all hope there's no weather issues like a freakin hurricane, tropical storm or something else...... LIFE NEEDS TO GET BACK TO NORMAL ....... like racing some r/c cars in a nice air conditioned building and not watching the weather 24/7.
Thanks Dave and Butts(TM),maybe I will make it down there I really miss running (FCCR) carpet,it was alot of fun. Seen the track pictures, looks like it would be alot of fun down there..Any tire advice? Thanks.

Kevin check this out http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/showthread.php?t=87377&page=1&pp=15 It's the same setup for my spec car that I use at HW. Hopefully I won't change to much for RPM.
Rcovalracer,
I ran Johns BSR tires down there, Gray rears, Gray lf and a Purple rf, worked very well. That track has a TON of grip. Let me know if your headed down there.
Later, Lee Helander
Velocity R/C
Just want to make sure that everbody checks over the rules so the is no surprises when you get there. Kat1sh will be selling motors and I believe Mike Boylan sells them off the snowbirds site too.

Couldn't find them on Boylan's site either.
Rules...what rules...toy cars don't need rules...

car weight...no problem it a ton...check
ride height...looks like a high rise truck...check

I think they are $30 bucks...You might want to check with Dan at the HW track. He had some about two weeks ago. Also, you can email TQ Hobbies...they have them also when I picked up my stock Ultras...
Do yall run touring oval in the Focar series and if so what motor do i need. I have run some touring oval on the RPM track already and have been interested in the Focar series.
All Focar classes are required to use the Ultra Birds Stock & 19t except for the novice class. Here's a link to rules: http://focars.net/rules.htm
touring oval is foam tires oval body and ultrabird 19t

Travis Katfish has them for sale @ the track 30 bucks with spring and brush
wow! thank you all very much for getting my back while my power has been out. i cannot tell you how nice it is to read great replies and correct replies! touring oval is a growing clqass in the series. i ask that you use a oval body and a spoiler no higher than 2 inches. ultrabird 19 turn motor, foam tires and 6 cells. this class is a blast.

the novice class has been growing as well with a different winner each race. exactly how a novice class is supposed to work! no cherry pickers. this is a great class for dad to get the kids involved. i enjoy watching the dads stand under the drivers stand barking out orders to there kids, lol. kinda like soccer moms ? well almost...he he

i went by rpm thursday and it looks to have survived frances with flying colors. i myself cannot wait to do some racing on the rug ..it's been 2 months without racing for me..crazy! a few of us may come up saturday to play at hobby world...

again thank you all for the speedy replies and for promoting the series..this is what makes the oval series special...dave p thank you very very much..i would like to talk to you and dave butts at the next race..

again there is some good info on www.focars.net

classes offered along with the basic rules.
motors are 30.00 and we have them at the track.

please any questions [email protected] now that i have my power back i can answer your questions in a days time....2 weeks cannot get here fast enough! thank you all again bill

There is nothing that makes me happier than to help out friends and when it comes to this series it is just such a cool race to attend. If you guys can make to this race you will have a great time and it will be worth every penny you spend to due so. Look forward to seeing everybody and yes doing some racing again.
