Was checking out my 1998 RCHTA 25th anniversary Flyer and turned her over and found something weird. Instead of a number etched on the bottom it has "Sample" on it. Whats up with that? Was this one not supposed to get away?

Those are the cars made prior to final production. Everything that has a serial number on it has a few made with "sample" printed before everyone else gets the actual cars.

Now, whether these are more or less collectible, that's up to you. Personally, I think they are more collectible because there are far less of them.

That sample will be one of 4 made, possibly 12 made if China had to redo them a bunch. I would say they are quite rare!

PMS485, that is a fine image you have there! Especially the Orange Camaro!

Quite rare indeed. I'll keep it. Bought about 16 loose cars from a guy oveseas and 10 of them are whites. Including the white vesion of the flyer. Some funny cars and some that are not pictured on lightning lane. Wish I had a camera, I'd donate the photos.
Speaking of photos... Nice job PMS485
