As most of the guys in the Die Cast Forum know I spent many years as a volunteer firefighter and I have been lucky in the past year and have found some really neet fire helmets. Today I added something different to my collection.

But lets start out with the first item I found it is a Old MSA Fire Helmet marked CHIEF DHL from 1984 award of "FIREFIGHTER OF THE YEAR AWARD GIMBELLS PITTSBURGH 1984"

I found this helmet at Goodwill back in July when I was on vacation last year.

I also found this old metal helmet Marked 10-2 PFD at the same time.

Last week I was extreamly lucky to find my first leather helmet with the eagle and the leather shield.

This week I went back to see if a helmet that I found last week was still around and it was. The guy was also offering a complete set of bunker gear (coat, helmet, bunker pants and firefighter boots along with the nomax hood) we started at a hundred dollars and I paid forty for the complete set. All I am picturing here is the helmet and coat. I did some digging and the gear is from the Air Force and was used at the Indian Springs Air Force Auxillary Air Fiend Fire Department.
