How many of you have stumbled in ebay and found one of the (many) models you're would like to add to your collection? I found a "Imai - Santa Maria" in 1/60th scale, great woodgrain detail as well as other pluses, all for the "Buy It Now" price $25.00!

How many other "finds" have you did a whoop dance for?

I had this kit in my stash for years and just gave it to a relative a few years back. Did not know it would fetch $25 dollars. It had vacum form sails and thread for rigging and brass (plated plastic) hardware. Not gonna do a dance!

You throw away the plactis sails, and the cheap brass plated stuff and use real chain. But we may not be talking about the same ship model take a look. She had no brass plated items, were talking about a 1592 ship. Why would any compant put brass plated stuff in a sailing ship model from that era? :freak:

Yup your right! it was an Imai, old type ship and the plated parts were on the stand. The two small furrel parts that go between the hull and stand. It's been awhile. Don't forget and post some pics.

Yeah. There are definitely models I never thought I'd own without paying an arm and a leg, but occasionally I get lucky on there.

I found a 1/16 scale Miami Vice Ferrari Testarossa by Revell, I was searching model kits one day on E-Bay and found that one. A whoop dance I did when I won it. For older kits, I always buy off E-Bay, as there are some really good deals on there. Just have to look around and find them sometimes.

Tom Daniel's Tijuana Taxi and Li'l Red Baron for $30 each. :thumbsup: I've seen the Taxi go for upwards of $100, and that was the only time I've seen a Li'l Red Baron up for grabs.

I lost the bid on the Ertl 1/60th. scale Chebec, A great model! I would have really liked to have added it to my collection, (but what will be will be), the final price was $177.50, not bad for a model that sold for $20.00 in 1982. I put up 125.00 but would go no higher. I hate this part of Ebay.!

In the beginning I recall getting very good deals on ebay. Not as often now. Nothing really sticks out for me as a super deal.

Have I ever found the "right" model on e-bay? Yes, many times. Cheap? That's a subjective term.

Bought lots of those "Must Haves," but no deals I can recall singing & dancing about.
