Ferrero is a well known Italian chocolatier who makes egg shaped offerings with toy prizes inside of them. They have been known as Kinder-Überraschung, Kinder Egg or Kinder Joy. In the original French (?), Kinder Sorpresa or Surprise. They were co-created by Michele Ferrero and William Salice, and is one of many candies sold under the Kinder brand name. Inside of the chocolate egge is a plastic capsule containing a toy.

Over time some of them have been small scale diecast vehicles. Offerings have included cars, trucks, train engines and construction equipment. One offering was the Heisse Mini-Dragster mit Metallmotor Series. Which were a range of vehicles modeled after the Hot Wheels Zowees series. Another series was of replica Hot Wheels models. Castings were mostly made in China. Some of them even had the Ferrero brand name on the base.

Giodi made very small racing car models for them.

As of 2017 Kinder Joy eggs, a packaging variation lacking the encased toy, have been sold in the United States, although the original Kinder Surprise egg design remains banned.
