Couple of cool finds. First, a police 4-door Explorer - 2000ish from Realtoy

I swapped the ugly little light bar and added a push bar.

Second, a Motormax Explorer Sport from about the same era. A wheel swap and a little paint to black out the bumper vents. For a Motormax, this was a ton of detail

Very nice, ready for some Explorin'.

Where did you get the BFGs? I'd love to find some for my Outback.
They are from the IH Scout from JL
I like how Realtoy makes a little extra effort sometimes to be competitive and puts more details and tampos on where Mattel doesn't. read "if we already detailed the sides and the hood, we can't possibly add colour to the lights"
Thanks, I think I've seen those hanging at TRU.

True. Mattel is very cheap with how much tampo detail each car gets. Which is weird, because they're quite liberal with the goofy graphics. They would win friends and influence people if they put the detail where it counts, like MB was doing a few years back. But Hot Wheels is like the game of baseball, they have their traditions, and won't change for anything.
I like the Motormax Explorer Sport, as I had a '99 about ten years ago. The 5-speed shifter always surprised passengers! It was a fun little truck, but two truck payments were a little too much for a young Petty Officer 3rd Class...
