disable Norton and see if the error comes up.

try typing in "chkdisk /f" in command prompt

.... or ditch Norton

sorry, just realized my typo....its chkdsk, not chkdisk

yeah I know... I noticed the day after, so more than likely he tried chkdisk and it didn't work, and probably didn't know its actually chkdsk, so I wanted to make that clear so he can re-try.
