Started in 1986 (?), Edor BU was located in Lelystad, Netherlands. Their products were sold throughout Europe. Their marketing strategy was to sell all kinds of toys mostly made by other manufacturers located in China. As such Edor was the distributer Matchbox products in the Netherlands until 1985. A subsidiary company Edor Germany was in the early 1960s in Germany to import Matchbox their as well. The German Edor company was taken over by Lesney and renamed Lesney Germany in 1973.

The Dutch Edor company began marketing its own range of diecast models under the name of Edocar in the 1980s.

In the 1980s they started selling diecast using their own name on the bases, but made by other manufactueres. Their first association was with MC Toy/Maisto. Some of the other companies who made castings for them this way were Golden Dragon, Kinsmart/Kintoy, Loyalbright, Maisto, Motormax, Realtoy, Singafund, Welly, Yat Ming and Zylmex.

Their Kinsmart offerings were free wheeling versions and not the standard pull back type vehicle Kinsmart/Kintoys usually offered.

They also marketed a series called "Action Series" and "Coca Cola" using castings made by Action Performance.

After a take-over in 2006, the new owner closed down the company and its distribution offices located in 13 countries.

The time frame for Motor Max and Singafund seems to be much later than Edocar's own history (?) also.
