Now that I have the officers lounge finished I have an assembly with both paint and decals that I would like to protect before adding to the model.

My Question:
I am using Model Masters Acrylic paints. For a dull coat should I use testors Dull Coat (lacquer based I think) out of the rattle can?
Or
Should I use the Modelmasters Clear Flat Acrylic finish from the bottle and airbrush that on?

Is one better than the other?

Is there something better?

Thanks,
Mark

I have been using Tamiya flat base mixed with Tamiya acrylic thinner. I was once told to always use an acrylic coat over acrylic paints. This will prevent any white from turning yellow.

From experience: DON'T USE THE LAQUER!!! It will yellow immediately and then yellow some more with age. I hate the stuff. Unless I want something yellow, in which case, it's my best friend.

I can't speak for the Model Master Acrylic, since I've never used it, but the other plain old boring Testors clear dull acrylic that I've used works well.

Just my $.02
