Nice build and paint job. There should be quite a bit of variety, IMHO, between Federation vessels considering the number of different cultures. The Vulcan shuttle, for instance, has a markedly different paint job compared to the standard Starfleet scheme.
I started doing just that years ago, separating it into sections but it ended up in the stash pile when something bigger and shinier came along. Now I'm saving it for retirement.
Found an original issue AMT Runabout on ebay at a very good price with free shipping. This will either become a hacked up disaster that never gets finished or a very cool model when it is finished, time will tell! I already have plenty of magnets on hand to hold the components together, this is going to be fun!
Oh yeah.... are you gonna start building this one as soon as you've opened the box? With your nice pictures, I might put this project on my ''To Do Sci-Fi List''.. .... right after the Moonbus and Buck Rogers Starfighter and a few of Gerry Anderson's models....
That's what I had in mind. Do you think that the cockpit and the rear sections details will be visible from the windows, naturally with some lights inside ?
So it would be a bad idea to open up the ceiling so we can see all the details inside? and what about the cockpit parts, do they fit better or it's the same?
I think the cockpit fits better. You have to put a floor in both ends and a little finagling here and there and it works. I tend to like a challenge anyway so I am always finagling. Opening up ceiling would be fine.
Gee whiz, ONLY more 348 years.... he's gonna die young!!!!!! Ahahahaha
