I got to see this up close and personal last weekend at StarFest in Denver. Met the builder - nice guy and very talented. The frame is made from brass and he vacuformed the canopy in several pieces.

Thanks for all the nice comments, and to sgthawker, I am going to send my son out to work on the scale of the grass. LOL I thought I'd upload some construction photos for those interested in how it was built. I got the idea years ago from Steve Dixon who used a Kyosho Blizzard snow vehicle to build a similar chariot, and after years of the Kyosho running gear sitting on my shelf, this year i decided I wanted to build the chariot and take to Robocon. I settled on 1/9.6 scale to match the side profile of the Kyosho running gear. The front profile of the Kyosho is a little too wide for that scale, so I just made the ladder extensions hang out over the treads a little farther. Since the Kyosho also had 1980's reostats for steering and speed control, I added an electronic speed control for smoother and slower speed. I just made the base from a stairwell rail that had the right radius. I soldered 5/32 " square brass tubing to frame it, and vacuformed the seats, spotlights and curved windows. I never tried vacuforming before but found some instructions on the net. I subcontracted out the parkas, curtains, and sunshades to my sister in law who sewed them for me. The dash just has blinking 3mm LEDs that show and also behind the B220 panels. Some of the accessories like Will's guitar and the toolbox and the game are 1/12 scale dollhouse miniature, but I thought they were close enough in scale not to be obvious. I still have to finish a few details like the rifle rack and thermometer, but I ran out out time before Robocon. Again, thanks for all the comments, I hope to someday take it out to the Trona Pinnacles and make another movie of it.
