I have seen a Viper model and they had the wires go from the ship down the base to a box were the battery box was located. They covered the wires which looked like some sort of putty. Would anyone know what kind of putty or material would be used to cover wires , to be painted later?
Thanks

I would make a thicker, hollow base so the wires can just go down through the top. You can hide the battery box, switch, wires, etc. in the base itself instead of trying to blend it in on top with putty (which sounds crude).

Run the wires through the base and have them resurface into part of the base that can take the battery....

I ran the wire feeds down the legs of my Viper...

These were fed through the base and back up into this piece of ground equipment containing the battery...

Invisible on the finished diorama...

Or you can go for the hollowed out base approach...
