I have an older Kohler K321 on a Cub Cadet that has a coil that looks like one off an old Ford or Chrysler car. Will these coils off of a car work as a replacement for the Kohler (1 cyl.) ? Also are the condensers interchangable?
I've got my problem narrowed down to the coil, I hope!

Thanks, BJ

Yes, they will work they are basically the same, and you should be able to use the condenser as well, heck you don't even need a condenser to make it work, the points just won't last as long without one.

yeah they work basically the same, but if one's flywheel is bigger than the small engine it might not work, like 30 tech said use the condensers , the points last longer with them

Flywheel size does not matter, as this is a battery excited ignition coil.

This thread should also be in the General Discussion or 4 - Cycle area
