Thank you Walt for all the help and all the hard work that you have put forth to further this sport of RC racing. We are sure going to miss the "short track" racing. Best of Luck in you're next adventure, what ever it is! Thanks again!

Dick,
What did you mean by the post. We are sure going to miss the "short track" racing. Best of Luck in you're next adventure, what ever it is!
Thanks Tommy and Larry

Don't know all the details but from what im hearing is that classic is closing.

someone needs to correct me right away if im wrong.

classic has been a great place to race carpet for years and years. one of the best tracks in the state. best in the country . and lots of knowledge there to help everyone. and solid competition has always been there to challange everyone at each level. Its a shame because that is one fast carpet track.

It also has been a great 1/4 short track for alot of guys to cut there teeth on. Learned alot on that little track. And have always had some
fun racing , banging doors and wearing out bumpers trying to get by someone.
even rememeber several years in a row that it was a real challange to make the A main. Had to run the heats hard to make sure you made it. couldn't experiment or have a bad run or you were in the C working your way up.
heck, you could be fast and still be in the B having to bump up. Thats how good everyone was running.
This was before anyone even started running sportsman there. We all ran GN.
Anyways,
Walt and others took the dive and got some 1/4s to run and soon it took off.
they learned the big NO NOs and taught all of us who raced there , what to do and NOT what to do. I don't know if most of us would be racing 1/4 scale if it wasn't for those guys. They were the first to go to some big
races too and told all of us what to expect and we were better prepared for that reason.
Thanks walt for many many years of great racing at classic. And teaching so many how to have fun and providing a place to do it.

Well from all the rumors Ive heard it sounds like Walt is closing shop. Its sad for me because Ive been racing with the Ellis boys since I was 12 years old back at the old carpet track in Ellet. Ive come a long way since then and Ed and Walt helped us out a lot. Unfortunately it sounds like Walt's on to better things. The past 5 years couldnt have been easy on him so I applaud the struggle he put up to keep it going as long as he did. Hopefully Walt wont disappear from the 1/4 scale world and he'll still go to some races. Good luck Walt!

Well That blows.WaltsTrack was the one that poped my 1/4 scale cherry. LOL
If I would have never went out there last year to see them run I would have never bought a 1/4 scale and yes walt and all the other guys have been teaching me so much about the sport. Thank You All so much. Walt Thank you the most for giving us some of the best times I have had this year at your track and for all the new people and friends we made.

If it weren't for Walt and Classic Hobbies I would never be racing r/c. From the days in the old store to the 1/4 scale days, I am truly grateful for all you have done for racers here in the northeast as well as for me personally. Thanks Walt, but you'll always be a sly ole' dog to me!!!
