In the mid 1980s, the Charon Toy Company Inc marketed Canadian Matchbox products. They were a division of Charon Industries Company of Toronto, Ontario.

As a side note in 1989, Matchbox issued a toy figure called Charon in their "Monster in my Pocket, Series 1" set.

Charon is usually portrayed as a demonic ferryman who you must pay, to take you across the river Styx to Hades ..the land of the dead.!
From Greek mythology, he turns up a lot in fantasy/dungeons & dragons type role playing games. I know because ..yes I was (& probably still am)... a geek.! & used to read the books/play the games.
