I recently purchased a Traxxas Slash... I was looking for an inexpensive charger... any ideas?

go to ebay there are some good one on there that are new in box that car fairly cheep but good. i was say get one that will charge every thing. so when and if you up grade you wont need to buy a new one.

how can you tell? For example. There are cheap traxxas chargers on there like the following...

Would all of these work on raceday? I'm assuming I'll have two 3800 mah packs and be running four races in a day..

Make the investment in the best you can afford.
Get a lipo compatible charger. It is the wave of the future and if you don't... you will get one eventually.
There are nice AC/DC chargers that are Lipo compatible.
Get one that will charge at at least 5 amps. You will need that for the batteries you mentioned and ones you will use in the future.
Do the research. Check out charger features compared to prices and like I said earlier.. get the best you can afford. You will not regret it.
If you just go for cheap... you will find yourself upgrading to a better charger in a short period of time.

My minimum recommendation for a 6x3800 pack on race day would be a dc intellipeak deluxe. They can be had for under $30. It is much nicer than the chargers you linked becuase it'll charge very fast and shut off when full.

my local hobby shop has the duratrax onyx with a battery i think its a 2500mah lipo and all for 100 maybe check your local hobby shop i love that thing and its a damn good charger
