Discussion Starter #1
i have a ase 446 with an onan 16 horse. i put a new wire to the starter because the old one was corroded. before i did this it worked just fine, but after putting the new one on, i wnt to start it and nothing, not even a click. i ripped throught the electrical and everything was just fine. i'm thinking maybe the starter is bad, but it went pretty darn quick-ussualy they show signs of wear first.-maybe the ignition module?- or the celanoid?

any ideas?

I know it sounds too simple, but sometimes the PTO lever adjustment will change, and the PTO is engaged. The safety interlock will prevent starter from engaging. Try holding the lever to it's "off" limit while you try the starter.
