Originally founded in 1851 by Paulus Bub, they started out making simply tin toys.

After WWI, they began making diecasts using ex-Bing molds. They also started making railway accessories.

During WWII their factory was obliterated, but Bub soon resumed operations and continued production until the mid 1960s.

In 2002, the Bub name was resurrected by Peter Brunner and Thomas Roschmann in Nuremberg as Premium ClassiXXs.

In the mid 2000s, they shared the same physical corporate address as NZG.
