AUTOart originated in Hong Kong and was started by Gateway Global Inc in 1998. They opened an office in Costa Mesa, California selling their products as AL Collectibles. Later this location moved to Cypress, California. They are now owned(? or marketed) by AA Collectible Ltd with an address shown in Nations City, California.

In 2002, they introduced their first line of 1:64 scale cars as AUTOart "Juniors". They also make larger scale vehicles of various sports cars from the USA, Germany, Italy and Japan. In Australia they are distributed by Biante. AUTOarts are known for their fine details and for using unique wheels for each casting model. (Are these factory wheels?)

Currently they offer a range of vehicles from 1:6 to 1:87 in size. And have Police, Off-Road, Motorcycles, Planes and Slot Cars availabe. Their slot car line includes a variety of spare parts that may appeal to the diecast customizers. Plus, they offer a variety of AUTOart brand lifestyle design and collector display accessiories.

I spent quite a whlle just watching the awesome cars roll by in their home page slide show.
