Crazy. I saw a Cougar a while back in the same condition. Maybe I should have bought it and thrown it on the Bay. Try my luck.

You have to wonder if to save money, they just did away with qc
I would agree, any QC at all is probably a thing of the past at Hot Wheels, at least on the mainlines.
It would cost too much to sort them... Stamp 'em, box 'em up, and ship 'em out!

Art of Reborn

I've seen some amazing things on Ebay. for instance a silicone reborn doll just sold last month for $22,600.00 and I'm not kidding. I have NEVER seen a doll sell for that price before. I'm seen them as high as $3,000.00 and even that seems high to me.
Here's a link to the Ebay auction for this doll. Incredible!http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_trksid=p4340.l2557&rt=nc&nma=true&item=170827797802&si=gUhj63%252FgNKjc1ey8YCdjU8lm7MA%253D&viewitem=&sspagename=ADME%3AB%3AWNA%3AUS%3A1123&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

I am waiting for Mattel to start up a Mainline Series of all Errors ..... This will fix their quality control in being that their isn't one as the Errors will be apart of a Series Set..... Now grant it , their will be a Error Series of over 100 different cars every year for the Set, but this is a great way for them to offload them. Mattel should hire me as I can plan out their sales ideas. :p

That's one way of catching them at their own game!
It would never happen though, because it would require Mattel to actually pay attention. And if they did that, there wouldn't be any errors. ;)

The QC is the same as it ever was, probably the same percentage as its always been.
But the volume of product has increased,by quite a bit, there for, more junk(errors). They are making more stuff then they ever have before, and more people then ever before are squirreling this stuff away as what they think is an investment.

I guess a lot of folks need to find ways to put worth on things that are worthless in order to validate their "collection".

Not good enough for a lot of folks just to collect cars. They have to think that at least some of it might be worth something in a few years.

$22,600 for a silicone baby, shipped direct from South Africa.

I'll believe that deal when the PayPal clears, and I see the baby!

Don't worry, I'll post some pictures for you.

My favorite sellers are those that have a car up for auction, and no one bids. Then they relist with a BIN auction at an absurdly high price. If no one is interested at 99 cents, then they sure won't be interested at 20 bucks.
