I got a new Micro-Mark catalog today, and one of the things I noticed they sell is Weathering Pastels. Twelve sticks of earth tone pastels for $13.95, a sponge applicator for another $3.60. The spray fixative is $4.59 for a 3 oz. spray can.

They also sell a Weathering Powder in 12 colors for $19.95, which is dusted onto your project.

I've never tried it, but thought I'd pass it on in case anyone is interested. Here is a link.

They have lots of great stuff.

Try going to your local art supplies store or something like Michaels/HOBBY LOBBY. You don't need a whole set and you save money and get the colors you want as single pieces. I did these with 3 colors. black, off white (creamish color) and grey...that and some rust paint. The greys come in 10 shades and in warm and cool versions.
