I'm looking for a simple, straight-forward, Mac-friendly CAD program with which to create 2-D plan views and construction diagrams for a spacecraft miniature I want to scratch-build. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Steve. The above link eventually lead me to Google's SketchUp, which is exactly the sort of program I was looking for.

For a non-3D guy like me, who simply wishes to generate presentational drawings and construction plans for scratch-building spaceship miniatures, SketchUp would appear to be a dream come true.

Here's a link to their site.

Video tutorials can be found here...

Fair warning: playing around with this stuff can be addictive.

I was thinking about mocking up some precision model kit mods in 2D drawings with GIMP the paths tool that I use for other stuff but SketchUp looks like its better to use plus you get 3D. Looks promising!
