All four of the '55 Chevy castings previously made by Hot Wheels have mostly been over shadowed today by the 5th version of the '55 Chevy modeled by Hot Wheels as a drag racing gasser that was introduced in 2013.

This 3rd '55 Chevy casting version issued by Hot Wheels was also designed by Larry Wood and has had 25 variations issued through 2022, according to Fandom. The body design is still that of the 2 door coupe model that has no side center post, but does now have the front vent window detail. The body trim molding is very complete on this version with both front and rear fender trim spears included. The hump at the front of the rear fender under the rear side windows are also now included.

Their first year of production for the (3) castings in the Classic Series 2 started out in Thailand in 2006 before it was moved to Malaysia in 2007 thru 2022, for all but the 2011 Chevy 5 Pack casting which also came from Thailand.

It was also issued as a multi pack exclusive in 2012, 2014 and 2020. And in the 2019 Wave Cravers 5 pack.

The first mainline segment issue was in the 2007 Taxi Rods.

In 2009, it was also a Regular and a Super Treasure Hunt issue.

In 2010, there were (5) versions in the Hot Auction segment. A Wal Mart and a Toys R Us exclusive casting version was included this year.

In 2017 and 2018, (2) castings each were issued in the HW Flames segment. One of the 2017 Flames castings was a K Day Exclusive.

In 2021, it was part of the Flying Customs Series line up.

And In 2022, (3) castings were issued in the Chevy Bel Air segment including as a Regular and a Super treasure hunt version.

As always feel free to add your own photos of the '55 Chevy (2006) castings you have in your collection and the story about finding them and adding them - if you want. 🤙

The earliest version of the '55 Chevy (2006) that I had in my collection was this 2017 HW Flames issue. It's not the K Mart exclusive though. It is easier to see the front vent window and curved hump of the rear fender in the illustration, but the silver side spears are very prominent against the black body.
