Another new sponsor to this year's Shootout is JamAir Paint (http://jamairpaint.blogspot.com) which is the official painter of current IFMAR 2WD 1:10 Off-Road World Champion Jared Tebo.
Former Des Moines resident Jamie Ferrell is the man behind this company and when he isn't busy painting RC bodies, motorcycle helmets, or beautiful women he can be found competing for another Karting National title.
And for this year's race he is donating 2 JamAir Paint hats plus certificates for 2 FREE RC paint jobs!
This is a brown paper sack. It might not look like much, but as they say it what's inside that counts!
Due to the overwhelming generosity of our awesome sponsors, it will take too long to hand out raffle tickets and then slowly draw #'s for the hundreds of items we are giving away.
So to speed things up on Sunday we will give each racer one of these sacks. Inside you will find your raffle ticket plus some door prizes. You might score some tools, body clips, tires, wheels, glue, shirts, gift certificates, electronics, LiPos, or all of the above!!
After those are distributed we will draw #'s for basically anything that doesn't fit into these sacks. Every racer is guaranteed a prize this weekend, so good luck to everyone and hopefully we draw your ticket for the bigger items!!!
Not only is our Platinum sponsor JConcepts giving away a FREE event t-shirt to every racer, but they have also donated some awesome door prizes like wheels, aluminum goodies, and these gift certificates!
If you receive one of these certificates they are good for $25 off your next purchase at the new JConcepts website, http://jconcepts.net !!
MB2 Raceway Iowa (http://www.mb2raceway.com) is the official sponsor of the 2nd Place Winner Awards. In all 10 classes, the 2nd place finisher will win a gift certificate good for a FREE 14 lap race at MB2 Raceway Iowa! We will also give away 10 more gift certificates tomorrow!!
Another Shootout is in the books despite mother nature's best attempts to ruin all of our fun! Again it is hard to imagine that the local racers can come together and organize a large event like this with no full time dedicated race director or Hobby Haven employee in charge of it. So hats off to the local racer's dedication to make this event happen each year! There are lots of folks that I need to thank, and I'm sure I'll miss someone, but here it goes!
Thanks to Sam, Paul, Zach, Job, Mike, and anyone else who helped out with track maintenance, taking out the garbage, handing out awards, door prizes, or anything else that was asked of them.
Thanks to Wade for running our first official tech area for the stock classes.
Thanks to John Bolten for the t-shirt and pit towel design, VIP spots for our pro drivers, and many other odds and ends before the race even started.
Thanks to Brad Miller for updating our trophy stand again for this year's race.
Thanks to Dave Duncan, Paul & Chazz Sinclair, Oldman Billy, Dustin Evans, Chad Due, Scotty and Sarah Ann Ernst for attending this year's race.
Thanks to all of our sponsors and racers that make this event special every year.
And special thanks to Rick and the entire Hobby Haven crew for letting us put on this race each year.
